Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton says the answer is simple: He made a mistake.
“That was 100 percent my fault,” Hamilton said. “I had to go back to the half, but I made the wrong call. It wasn’t my fault. [defensive coordinator] Zach Orr It wasn’t on Marlon [Humphrey] or someone else. It was my fault. If you watch the game, you can probably see that we missed a half safety. I got a bit confused. I should have gone back to the half and I take the blame for that.”
Hamilton was a first-team All-Pro in 2023, but he admits his 2024 season hasn’t gotten off to a good start.
“I don’t think I played well,” Hamilton said. “It’s a week-to-week competition. I’m looking forward to getting back this weekend and putting it right.
Hamilton noted that it’s a long season, and that every Super Bowl winner in NFL history except the 1972 Dolphins has lost at least one regular-season game. Losing in Kansas City is far from a season-ending blow. But Hamilton also acknowledged that the Ravens need to get back on track in their home game against the Raiders on Sunday. He has no intention of making the same mistake again.
