Escaping hell while tied to your loved ones is always a bit chaotic, but a new Chained Together update will make that chaos even greater.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, Chained Together is a co-op sim that tasks players with climbing up and out of Hell itself. This is made even harder by the fact that you’re chained to your friends as you climb up, so if one of you falls… well, let’s just say you all have to deal with the consequences.
Now, developer Anegar Games is turning up the heat even further with an update to Chained Together that lets you create and share custom maps for others to play with.
Chained Together’s Integrated Map Editor can be accessed from the main menu via the Workshop button. Here, players can flex their hellish creative muscles with a variety of tools that “facilitate the creation of challenges, interactions, and unique mechanics.”
Here are some key points, as outlined by Anegar Games on Steam:
- Challenges: Discover new challenges made possible by the map editor.
- Logical interactions: add buttons, triggers, and object movement mechanisms.
- Environment Manipulation: You can play with object visibility, their collisions, and even create splines to control movement or create new environments.
New maps can then be published to the rest of the Chained Together community.
“To play a mode created by the community, you must first subscribe via the Workshop button in the launcher menu,” Anegar Games explained. “When you create the game, select Workshop as the game mode and choose from the modes you have subscribed to.”
The Chained Together team has also overhauled the settings interface with this update, which they said will make for “more intuitive” navigation.
